For my bachelorette party, I and 14 of my closest friends went on a winery hopping expedition in a limousine for an entire day. Just for the occasion, I made cute little keepsakes for each girl - a wine glass with a chalkboard bottom for everyone to write their names on. These were awesome for this trip because we didn't have to put down a deposit at each winery for a glass (usually $3.00), nobody mixed up their wine glasses when we were all sitting at the same table and everyone had a little something to remember the event. These super cheap, easy and fun little DIY chalkboard wine glasses are perfect for your next bachelorette party, bridal shower, or get-together. They can even be used as place cards. All you need are wine glasses, chalk board paint (in any color), a paint brush, and chalk. For my bachelorette party, I bought a bunch of mismatched wine glasses from Goodwill for 50 cents each. For the Smarty glass in the header, we used a disposable Smartyware Fluted Plastic Wine Goblet from www.smartyhadaparty.com. *NOTE: These glasses are NOT, I REPEAT NOT dishwasher safe. The paint will peel. That's why I just used Goodwill glasses - they were a one-time use type thing. Even better if you use a disposable plastic wine glass!
You can do these one of two ways - if you've got chalkboard paint galore, then just dip the bottoms of the glasses, let the excess paint drip off, then leave upside down to dry. The other way is to paint the chalkboard paint on with a brush, which uses far less paint. I'm a super freak when it comes to not wasting things, so I went the paint brush route. It took 2-3 coats, but that was totally ok by me. I even squirted the paint directly onto the bottom of the glasses so I didn't have to throw any away that I didn't use if I poured it onto a paper plate or something first (can you say, "O.C.D.?"). The result is the beautimous drinkware you see before you.
Even though this looks like "Molgda" it's actually "Magda." Chalk writing is hard.
